Norbert earned his Brown Belt, Hillary is not far behind.
After a two hours test at Karate, Norbert earned his Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do, which makes the Black Belt coming one step closer.
Brown Belt Test in December 2007
On Thursday, December 20th. Norbert earned his Brown Belt. The test that lasted more then 2 hours, included a lot of techniques, with Blocks, Kicks and forms. Also included were Board Breaks. These massive wooden Boards were 1" thick (2.5 cm for our metric friends) and had a size of 12x12 inch (30x30cm). I broke three of them, one with an elbow smash, one with hammer fist and the third one with palm heel. At the end of the test, I had to fight 6 matches plus a multiple. For all of them that don't know what a multiple is: Fighting multiple opponents simultaneously. In my case, my Instructors Mr. Hanna and Ms. Reeve decided that with my skills I can take on 5 opponents at the same time. At the end I was pretty much exhausted and had bruises all over the place.
Hillary will be going for her Brown Belt soon. She is making good progress and tested for her third stripe already.
